SUMMARY:Speculative Fiction Critique Group (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Write sci-fi\, fantasy\, or any kind of speculative fiction? SAWG’s Monday night Speculative Fiction Critique Group might be the place for you! \nWe meet every Monday from 7-9 pm and are open only to current members of SAWG because we do not meet in a public location. To join SAWG\, please click here! \nHow Does It Work? \nSAWG’s Spec-Fic critique meetings are small-group focused with a rolling submission order (where everyone takes turns reading their material week-to-week). Two pieces are read every week\, and there will be a table read\, verbal critique\, and a round-table discussion section. Submissions are handed out a week in advance to give members plenty of opportunity to preview the text and make line annotations and/or write critique letters if they so desire. \nIf you are already a member and would like more information on our location or a copy of our full format\, submission guidelines\, and FAQ — feel free to request permission to join our private channel on the Discord\, email sanantoniowgbusiness@gmail.com\, or get in touch with a board member at one of our monthly meetings!

SUMMARY:Wednesday Night Critique Group (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Join us every Wednesday night from 7 PM to 9 PM at Denny’s at 13635 San Pedro Ave\, San Antonio\, TX \nAll are welcome to attend\, but only SAWG members can submit their work to be read and critiqued. Not a SAWG Member yet? No problem – Join us here! \nSAWG’s Wednesday night critique group invites anyone to attend! \nHow Does It Work? Members earn points by attending critique sessions\, and the reading order is determined by whoever has the most points over the last six weeks. The more you attend\, the more points you accumulate\, and your score goes higher. \nSubmissions are not read in advance. They will be read aloud by another group member\, and oral critiques will be given afterward. All copies of the submission will be returned to the author with additional margin notes from the group. \nGuidelines: \n1. Bring at least 10 copies of your printed submissions; \n2. Submissions should be double-spaced and no more than ten pages long; \nFor more information\, email sanantoniowgbusiness@gmail.com.
