What are write-ins?

Sometimes life is busy. So periodically we set up Saturday sessions where writers meet to write. It is structured and productive time, because the energy of other people often helps with focus and the environment is one with minimal distractions.

Bring a laptop or pen and paper. Prepare to sit and write for about 50 minutes, then there is a ten minute break to stretch and visit, then it's back to work. Often there will be 3-4 hours of productive time.

This is another place where membership has benefits, and there are discounts for write-ins.

Our next scheduled Write-in is May 20, 2017:

Please mark your calendar to attend our next WRITE-IN at Rosella Coffee, 203 E Jones Ave (between Broadway & the San Antonio Museum of Art), 8:30 – Noon.  WRITE-INs are a productive chance to get away from the sometimes irresistible writing-distractions of home.

If you’re not familiar with Rosella Coffee, it’s a writer-friendly and conversation-friendly setting with free Wi-Fi.  Ideal for writing, editing, research or discussing ideas.

For this first WRITE-IN @ Rosella, we’ll be on the upper level (there’s also ground floor & outside patio seating).  They become busy around 9 am, so arriving early assures SAWG attendees can get seats in proximity to each other – “seating’s first come, first serve.”  Other details:

Getting to Rosella – (see map) Accessible via the US 281 Josephine/Grayson Streets exit, or directly down Broadway.

Cost – We ask for a contribution to SAWG’s general fund of $10 for members, $15 non-
members.  The same amounts as traditional during our years at Bethany Congregational.

Breakfast Beverages – We’ll refund contributors the cost of Rosella’s “bottomless” coffee, or tea.  A full breakfast menu is also available

Parking – On-street, and in lot @ corner of Broadway & Jones.  The lot is owned by Rosella’s owner, who authorizes customers to park there.
