Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about SAWG, its members, and its purpose.
Are visitors welcome?
Absolutely. As a visitor, you may attend critiques, meetings, and write-ins. You may join the mailing list for updates. Before you can be added to the reading list to share your writing, though, you will have to become a member.
Do you have an age limit?
No, not officially. SAWG is open to writers of all ages, but if they are younger than 18, we prefer a parent or guardian be present. Some of the work that we share may not be suitable for children or young teens. When we're in public venues, we will try to warn attendees of any potentially objectionable material.
The Saturday critiques at Savor Fare have an age limit of 21 due to the presence of alcohol.
What types of writing do you critique?
We've pretty much seen it all. We have writers of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, thrillers, young adult, middle-grade, children's books, literary fiction, horror, women's fiction, non-fiction/memoir, poetry, romance, and more.
